The pH determines whehetr or not the M-O's proteins will work or not, they generally all use some sort of protein, for external uses, these proteins are sensitive to certain temperatures and acidity levels. If the acidity is too high, the proteins could become null and void, the proteins react because of THEIR chemical makeup, and their wall , the acidity has alot to do with it. Moisture, most fungi and bacteria draw moisture from the air, the little that they need that is. Anything else, needs something to take it from, like a host cell, or something like that.What I forgot to mention is, without these proteins, the M-O will die.
