Question: I bruise easily and I heard from a friend that this vitamin may help me?

A: Age related bruising occurs when the tiny capillaries break after a blunt trauma. As we age, the skin becomes thinner and the blood vessels become fragile, which may result in the smallest bump to show bruising. Consuming at least 1000 mg of Vitamin C per day is important to keep the collagen in the skin strong. Supplementing with bioflavanoids such as Rutin, Hesperidin are helpful because they decrease the capillary fragility.
