Question: I make homemade laundry soap. will lemongrass be good to mix in my batch? if yes how many drops to a 5 gallon bucket? are other oils recommended for a great smelling laundry soap?

Their safe use requires they be treated with care and respect. The user should be knowledgeable about their properties and actions before any use. Most personal applications require drops rather than ounces.

  Unfortunately I cannot provide you with the exact amount of drops to use, however experimenting can give you a mixture that will work well for you and your family.

  Here is a recipe provided by the manufacturer for a lemongrass skin tonic that might give you an idea for the ratio of essential you'll nee for your detergent.

  Lemongrass Skin Tonic
  Aromatherapists value lemongrass for its ability to both calm and revitalize, to relieve tension, invigorate, and inspire. The tall tropical grass fills this tall order beautifully.

  Ingredients

  6 drops lavender essential oil
  1 drop clary sage essential oil
  1 drop chamomile essential oil
  4 drops lemongrass essential oil
  2 ounces distilled water

  Directions

  Add the essential oils to the distilled water, then pour into a spritzer bottle. Close your eyes, and mist your skin. Keep this in the refrigerator, and you'll have a cooling, refreshing lift.
