Solaray L-5-hydroxy Tryptophan 100 mg is special combination of natural L-5-Hydroxytryptophan, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin C and bioflavonoids. Recent clinical studies have indicated that the use of L-5-HTP increases the absorption of serotonin in the brain. Vitamin B-6 works uniquely as a cofactor for enzymes that convert L-tryptophan into serotonin. The Vitamin C, meanwhile, works to catalyze the hydroxylation or tryptophan to serotonin. I have been using Solary L-5-hydroxy Tryptophan for about six weeks. I do find that it is helpful. I am resting better and have more overall energy during the day. My husband and my 82 year old mother are also taking this supplement. It is best to take it at the same time each day and to take it with food. We have found that if it is not taken with food it could slightly upset your stomach. We will continue to use this product.
