Acetyl L-Carnitine is derived from the amino acids Lysine and Methionine. It is commonly used to help improve memory and decrease memory loss in people with memory loss as well as Alzheimer's Disease. Acetyl L-Carnitine is also used to help with mood disorders such as depression and has even been used in conjunction in various treatments for Parkinson's Disease, stroke, and Peyronie's Disease.

 

A neuro-protective substance, Acetyl L-Carnitine is produced naturally in the kidneys and liver, with the highest concentrations found in the skeletal system and in muscles throughout the cardiovascular system. It allows the body to burn unwanted excess fats by transporting fatty acids across cell membranes to the mitochondria, where they are used to produce cellular energy.
